- Mel has worked with Paragon since 2001 and been an ensemble member since 2004. After a two-year hiatus to finish her masters in public administration (MPA, University of Colorado Denver Health and Sciences, 2007), Mel is ready to rejoin the Paragon force! Although she now works on the outskirts of public policy as a social science program evaluator, Mel’s role has traditionally been as a lighting designer. She will continue to design in this capacity in the coming season as well as diversify her work with the company. Selected professional theatre experiences include the Utah Shakespearean Festival, the Santa Fe Opera, the Shakespeare Theatre and Arena Stage in Washington D.C., Blue Man Group Boston, the Denver Center Theatre Company, the Denver Center for Performing Arts, Boettcher Concert Hall, and the National Theatre Conservatory. She has also worked as an architectural lighting designer in Providence, RI and has taught lighting to interior design students at Arapahoe Community College and Westwood College. Her BA is in Theatrical Design Technology from the University of Northern Colorado (2000).
