Paragon Announces 2008 Season
It is with the Paragon ensemble's greatest pleasure that we announce the 2008 subscription season! Paragon has experienced enormous growth over the past year and we want to thank our patrons for being the foundation upon which we have built lasting success. Our gift to our supporters is a season full of surprises and a move to a new theatre. That's right, Paragon is on the move.
Paragon is moving to the Crossroads Theater located at 27th and Welton (2590 Washington Street) in Denver.
The Crossroads is a brand new, one hundred seat, jewel box theatre with free parking, air-conditioning, brand new heating and is conveniently located next to Blackberry's Coffee and the light rail. The Paragon ensemble could not be happier to invite our audiences to join us at this gorgeous new location in 2008.
Subscriptions can be purchased via our 2008 Season Subscription Form, over the phone or at any performance of The Night Heron at the Phoenix Theatre, Paragon's last offering of the 2007 season.
Paragon 2008 Season
- The Gin Game
- By D.L. Coburn
- Feb 16 — Mar 15, 2008
- The Crossroads Theater
- A simple game of cards between an elderly man and a woman passing the time in a retirement home becomes much more in this Pulitzer Prize-winning tragicomedy. As the stakes of the game rise, so does the tension between Fonsia and Weller, who, with both humor and poignancy, confront the hands life has dealt them.
- Bringing two of Denver's favorite actors together, Patty Mintz Figel and Jim Hunt, this production will be directed by Paragon Artistic Director, Warren Sherrill.
- Sight Unseen
- By Donald Margulies
- May 3 — May 31, 2008
- The Crossroads Theater
- How does commercial success blur an artist's vision? How does the prism of time distort perspective? In this tightly woven story set against a backdrop of anti-Semitism, Pulitzer Prize-winner Donald Margulies grapples with love, art and morality, showing us through his beautifully-flawed characters that time doesn't necessary heal all wounds.
- Ensemble member Carolyn Valentine makes her long awaited return to the stage along with fellow ensemble members Jarrad Holbrook and Suzanne Favette. Special guest director TBA.
- This Is How It Goes
- By Neil LaBute
- Jul 19 — Aug 16, 2008
- The Crossroads Theater
- The award-winning and always provocative Neil LaBute is a master at exposing the ugly underbelly of human behavior. In This Is How It Goes, he tackles racism, adultery and deception with brutal hilarity, proving that no story is black and white. The shocking ending will leave you speechless or talking for days.
- Starring Denver's all-star, powerhouse actors, Scott McLean, Tyee Tilghman* and Emily Paton Davies. Directed by Warren Sherrill.
- The Glass Menagerie
- By Tennessee Williams
- Oct 18 — Nov 16, 2008
- The Crossroads Theater
- In Tennessee Williams' timeless and disturbing classic, Tom Wingfield recounts life with his timid, crippled sister and their domineering mother-a life of despair that he has left far behind. He remains haunted by his family's dysfunction and we soon realize that his are memories that will never fade.
- A stellar cast, reuniting Michael Stricker and Martha Harmon Pardee on the Paragon stage. Supported by the outstanding Barbra Andrews and Josh Hartwell. Directed by Paragon's Warren Sherrill.
